The 2011 Namiki Limited Edition Golden Rose is crafted using togidashi-taka maki-e and raden (mother of pearl) techniques that require not only meticulous effort but also the highest level of artistic expertise and intricacy. The leaves in the design are made from abalone shell set against multiple layers of lacquer encrusted with gold power. What makes the Golden Rose stand out from its predecessors is its gold-base cylinder, a first since Pilot introduced its Namiki line 15 years ago. The company had used a black lacquer base in previous collections.
