The Guilloche is unique to Faber Castell, the new crafting procedure engraves thread-like diamond patterns onto the resin barrel, which is coated with a special lacquer, dried, then polished by hand. This hand polishing leaves the lacquer in the engraved areas of the barrel, giving it a unique, sleek surface design. The material used is tough and requires works of art to produce. All metal parts Silver-plated and rhodinized to prevent tarnishing. No two fountain pens are identical and each is individually finish.
